Our Mission:

To make a difference in people’s lives by empowering them to use their bikes to go anywhere they want, safely and confidently.

Our Goal:

To help our communities become more livable and sustainable by promoting a civil and cooperative environment on our roads through complementary education and infrastructure design.

Our Vision:

For our communities to be places where bicyclists are expected and respected as a normal part of traffic.

Our Vision

Imagine…

If anyone could hop on a bike and go anywhere because bicyclists are an accepted part of traffic on roads we already have.

Imagine…

If anyone could hop on a bike and go anywhere because people of all ages were encouraged to acquire the knowledge and skill to operate safely as vehicle drivers on the roads we already have.

Imagine…

If everyone felt safe on the roads we have because they understood where the dangers are and where they are not, they were expected and respected there, our society enforced the traffic laws and stopped handing out driver’s licenses like entitlements, and we actually made sure to keep repeat offenders off the road.

Imagine…

What our communities would be like if we ended the tyranny of the automobile and integrated humanity back into the roads we already have.

We imagine…

Our communities as places where the drivers of human-powered vehicles are expected and respected as a normal part of traffic.

We believe…

There is a place for bicycle-specific infrastructure to enhance the bicycling experience, and that it is possible and necessary to design that infrastructure to support the best practices of successful bicycling.

We believe…

People will hop on their bikes when they know how to be safe, when they feel welcome and respected, and when they are not limited by dependence on special infrastructure to go wherever they want to go.

Friendliness is an attitude.

It isn’t something we construct with concrete and paint.

It’s something we instill with positive leadership.

It’s something we should expect from all citizens and demand from our leaders.
